Biography
Paul Craven Denny Jr., 77, of West Lafayette, died at 12:45 p.m. Sunday, December 18, 2011 at the Indiana Veterans Home in West Lafayette.
He was born December 1, 1934 in Ober, Indiana to the late Paul Craven and Alice (Dunn) Denny. He graduated from Short Ridge High School in 1951. He then attended Butler University from 1951-1952 and Indiana State University in Terre Haute from 1952-1953.
Paul served in the United States Army, in the 3rd Armored Division in Korea from 1944-1945.
His marriage was to Rosebella Everman in 1955 and they had two children, Kevin and David Denny. They later divorced.
Throughout his life, he lived in Phoeniz, Arizona, Dwight, Illinois and Cutler, Indiana. From 1955-1960, Paul worked for Armour & Co. in Indianapolis in sales. He then owned and operated two trucks from 1960-2001. He drove over three million miles with no accidents or violations, and was awarded many safe driving awards. His last position was with US Security in Lafayette for Ivy Tech.
Surviving is a brother, Al Denny of Indianapolis, his longtime companion, Brenda Bower of Frankfort, her four children, Jenny Dunker (husband: Don), Jeff Dunker (wife: Lori), Joe Speer and Jeremy Speer (wife: Kristy), 12 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
Friends may call from 10:00 a.m. until the time of funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 28, 2011 at the Indiana Veterans Home Chapel with Chaplain David Hess officiating. Interment to follow at the Indiana Veterans Home Cemetery.
