Fred Baker, 95, of Wolcott, died Thursday, March 3, 2011 at his residence.
He was born December 10, 1915 in Nancy, Kentucky to the late Henry and Allie (Berge) Baker.
His marriage was to Minnie Roberts on December 17, 1936 in Somerset, Kentucky. She preceded him in death on April 3, 2010. In 1943, they moved to Indiana and farmed in Kentland, Goodland, Remington and then Wolcott.
Mr. Baker worked as a farmer and owned/operated a tree trimming business he started in March 1963.
He was a member of Wolcott Baptist Church.
He loved his vegetable garden and enjoyed playing horseshoes, playing in his dartball league and being outdoors.
Surviving are three daughters, Learee E. Williamson (husband: Paul) of Wolcott, Lena F. Cox (husband: Dale) of Farmer City, IL, and Lois “Darleen” Bulington (husband: Lynn) of Tucson, AZ and a son, Rodger H. Baker of Wolcott and two sisters; Eltie Keeney (husband: Raymond) of Nancy, KY and Maddie Dalton of Monticello, IL.
Also surviving are 7 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and 11 great-great grandchildren.
Friends may call from 10:30 a.m. until the time of service at 12:30 p.m. Monday, March 7, 2011 at Foster-Clapper Funeral Home of Wolcott, the Rev. Randy Arbogast will officiate. Interment to follow in Wolcott Cemetery.
Preceding him in death with his parents and wife are six brothers and one sister.
