Life Legacy

Minnie May Baker, 90, of Wolcott, died at 4:20 p.m. Saturday, April 3, 2010 in her residence. She had been in failing health.
She was born May 16, 1919 in Nancy, Kentucky to the late Elmer and Mary Catherine (Dalton) Roberts.
Her marriage was to Fred Baker on December 17, 1936 in Somerset, Kentucky. He survives. When they first married they lived on a farm in Delmer, Kentucky. In March of 1943 they moved to Indiana and farmed in Kentland, Goodland, Remington and then Wolcott.
Mrs. Baker helped her husband throughout their working years by raising the family, helping farm and lastly when they owned/operated a tree trimming business they started in March of 1963.
She was a member of the Wolcott Baptist Church and past member of the Wolcott Home Economics and Wolcott Bicycle Clubs.
She enjoyed flower gardening, working on trees and being outdoors.
Surviving with her husband are her daughters, Learee E. Williamson (husband: Paul) of Wolcott, Lena F. Cox (husband: Dale) of Farmer City, IL, and Lois “Darleen” Bulington (husband: Lynn) of Tucson, AZ; a son, Rodger H. Baker of Wolcott and a sister, Emma Burton of Nancy, KY.
Minnie loved spending time with her grandchildren, especially her 7 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and 9 great-great-grandchildren.
She was very active in her church and loved the Lord. She was also a wonderful people person.
Preceding her in death with her parents are 7 brothers and sisters.
Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, April 7, 2010 at Foster-Clapper Funeral Home in Wolcott. Service there 11 a.m. Thursday, April 8, 2010; the Rev’s. Dale Cox and Randy Arbogast will officiate. Interment to follow in Wolcott Cemetery.
