Marjorie L. Ryan (Wilson) age 92 of Kentland died Friday, March 5, 2010 at 4:20AM in Iroquois Memorial Hospital, Watseka, IL.
Marjorie (Marge) was born January 27, 1918, in Bedford, Indiana to the late Ethel Thompson Wilson Harriman and the late Harry G. Wilson. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 52 years, Richard Roach Ryan, who passed away in 1994. Marge and Dick started the Old Colonial Inn in Kentland in 1963 and operated it until their retirement in 1980, when they began wintering at their home in Sun City Center, FL. Prior to that, Marge and Dick were involved in the insurance business. Marjorie also served as the clerk/treasurer for the town of Kentland for a number of years. She was a long time member of St. Joseph’s Church in Kentland. Marge loved to play bridge, to paint, play golf, and was an avid IU/Colts fan. Marjorie is survived by her two sons, Richard Steven (Paula) of Goodland and David (Mary) of Munster as well as her daughter, Sally Waibel (David)of Troy, Ohio; eight grandchildren and five great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her five brothers and sisters: Bethel Clark; Robert Wilson; Richard Wilson; Marion Wilson; and Doris Marvin..
Visitation will be Tuesday, March 9, 2010 from 9:30AM (CST) until an 11AM (CST) Mass of Christian Burial all at the St. Joseph’s Catholic Church of Kentland. Reverend Robert Bernotas Celebrating the Mass. A private inurnment at the Fairlawn Cemetery, Kentland will follow. Memorial Contributions may be made to St. Joseph’s Catholic Church of Kentland or the South Newton Scholarship Fund.
