Life Legacy
Margaret L. (Osterman) Gish, 84, of Brookston, died unexpectedly at 2:42 a.m. Thursday, February 25, 2010 in St. Elizabeth Central Hospital. She had been in failing health since November of last year.
She was born September 18, 1925 in Ft. Wayne to the late Carl and Talitha (Thumm) Osterman. She was a 1943 graduate of North Side High School and continued her education at Ward-Bellmont Jr. College.
Her marriage was to Dr. Howard M. Gish on November 24, 1948 in Ft. Wayne. They moved to Brookston July 1, of 1950. He died August 24, 2007.
Mrs. Gish was a homemaker. She was also a longtime member of Trinity English Lutheran Church.
She was an avid Indiana University supporter, enjoyed reading and spending time outdoors. She especially loved her dogs.
Surviving are a cousin, Ophelia Weitzman of Ft. Wayne; two brother-in- laws, Dr. Charles Gish (wife: Treva) of Brookston and Floyd “Jack” Gish (wife: Nancy) of Delphi and several nieces and nephews.
In accordance with her wishes friends may call from 11 a.m. until the time of service at 12 p.m. (Noon) Monday, March 1, 2010 at Krauss Chapel of Trinity English Lutheran Church (405 W. Wayne St. Fort Wayne, Indiana 46802); the Rev. Kathleen Haller to officiate. Interment to follow in Lindenwood Cemetery, Ft. Wayne.
