BiographyBlanche "Jeanette" Voglund, 85, of Kentland, died Wednesday, Feb. 24, 2010, at St. Mary Healthcare Center in Lafayette.Born, Aug. 1, 1924, in Kentland, she was the daughter of Meddie and Romana Cunningham Sego. A lifetime resident of Kentland, she attended St. Joseph Catholic grade school and graduated from A. J. Kent High in 1942. On May 13, 1947, she married Vernon R. Voglund in Kentland. He preceded her in death on March 30, 1992. Mrs. Voglund was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. She was a member of St. Joseph's Women's Society, Red Hat Society, Grandmother's Club, 40 & 8, Home Extension (since 1948), and American Legion Auxiliary where she held several offices. She was formerly active in 4-H. She enjoyed flower gardening, playing cards, and spending time with her family. Surviving are four daughters, Monica Braman (husband: Phil) of Warsaw, Charlotte Schrontz (husband: Bob) of Rossville, Donna Voglund (husband: Arnold Flores) of Richardson, Texas, and Connie Saint Sing (husband: Edwin) of Mooresville, N.C.; three sons, Dave Voglund (wife: Diane) of Louisville, Ky., Don Voglund (fiancée: Tracey Horvath) of Lafayette, and Dan Voglund of Kentland; and six sisters, Mary Kay Anstett (husband: Harold), Theresa Sego, Romana Sego, Loraine Sego of Kentland, Alice Silver (husband: Bill), and Martha Gretencord (husband: Bill) of Fowler. Also surviving aretwo special sisters-in-law, Pat Sego and Ester Voglund of Kentland; 11 grandchildren, Chris Braman (wife: Krista), Tom Braman, Shelly Reese (husband: Tim), Megan Borland (husband: Brent), Nicholas and Nathanial Glaspie, Quentin and Mali Voglund, Valerie and Kelly Saint Sing, and Jennifer Misenheimer (husband: Don); and 3 great-grandchildren, Madison and Mylie Reese and Will Borland. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Margaret, and a granddaughter, Denise Voglund; and two brothers, the Rev. Arthur A. Sego and Tom Sego. Scripture service is 3 p.m. CST Sunday, Feb. 28 with visitation 3-7 p.m. at Stitz-Clapper Funeral Home in Kentland. Services at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Kentland, at 11 a.m. CST Monday, March 1, with Father Robert Bernotas, officiant. Burial will take place at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Kentland.
