Glenn Blume

Glenn A. Blume, 79, of Lafayette, formerly of Wolcott and Brookston, died at 9:40 a.m. Wednesday, January 20, 2010 at Bickford Cottage Assisted Living, Lafayette.

He was born December 12, 1930 in Wolcott to the late Leroy and Emma (Helderle) Blume and attended Wolcott High School.

His marriage was to Norma J. Stoller on July 8, 1950 in Wolcott. She died April 25, 2006.

He was a White county resident most of his life until moving to Sarasota, Florida with his wife in 1994. They moved back to Lafayette, Indiana in April of 2005.

Mr. Blume farmed grain in the Brookston area for many years.

He was a member of the Wolcott Apostolic Christian Church.

Surviving is a daughter, Glenna J. Minniear (husband: Mike) of Goodland; sons, Jeffrey A. Blume (wife: Cynthia) of California, Craig E. Blume (wife: Kathy) and Kent P. Blume (wife: Robin) both of Lafayette and Larry D. Blume (wife: Lynell) of Brookston and two sisters, Donna Knochel (husband: Art) of Remington and Elizabeth Provo of Worthington, Indiana.

Friends may call from 1-8 p.m. Friday, January 22, 2010 in Hartzler-Clapper Funeral Home, Brookston. Private funeral service to be held on Saturday, January 23, 2010. Church clergy will officiate. Interment will follow in Wolcott Cemetery.

Also surviving are 15 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.

Preceding him in death is a brother, Donald Blume; a sister, Verba Schwab and an infant great-granddaughter, Ashley Claire Blume.
