Biography

Barbara J. Stonebraker, 71, of Shelbyville, Tennessee, formerly of Brookston and Portage, Indiana, died at 6:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 25, 2009, in Glenn Oaks Nursing Home in Shelbyville, Tennessee.
Born on February 3, 1938 in Newtonville, Indiana, she was the daughter of the late George and Rena Painter Richey. She attended Rockport High School.
Her marriage was to Robert T. Stonebraker on November 30, 1956 in Brookston. He survives.
Mrs. Stonebraker worked for Jessup Paper Box, Inc. and at various restaurants in the Brookston area for several years. She was a member of Portage Moose Lodge #1900 and Women of the Moose.
She enjoyed traveling, fishing, and spending time with her family.
Surviving with her husband are her daughters, Donna Carr (husband: Michael) of Palm Harbor, Florida and Kathy Kolosci (husband: Dennis) of Westville, Indiana; two sisters, Bernadine Renehane (husband: Jerry) of Chesterson, Indiana and Margaret Franklin of Grandview, Indiana; and five brothers, Frank Richey (wife: Barbara) of Grandview, Indiana, Bill Richey (wife: Karen) of Brookston, Sam Richey (wife: Vallerie) of Rockport, Indiana, Ray Richey (wife: Patricia) of Hatfield, Indiana, and Kenny Richey of Spring Hill, Florida.
Also surviving are four grandchildren, Jessica, Justin, Lindsey and Lizzy and three great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death are twin sons, Robert David and Robert Donald; and three brothers, George, Robert “Bob”, and Wayne Richey.
Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Friday, August 28, 2009 at Hartzler-Clapper Funeral Home of Brookston. Funeral services to be held Saturday, August 29 at 10 a.m at the funeral home. Interment to follow in Pretty Prairie Cemetery, Battle Ground.
